The Algerian airline company announced today, Tuesday,  in a statement that it has reduced the cost of the quarantine scheduled for Algerians returning to the country, as of today, Tuesday, to 33,000 dinars per passenger, while students and elderly persons with low incomes have been exempted from paying these expenses.

A statement by the Algerian airline company posted on social media said that, “In implementation of the new instructions issued by the Algerian authorities, the quarantine costs have been reduced to 33,000 dinars per passenger.”

The company also indicated the need to attach to the exemption requests for students and elderly persons with low incomes, identification documents destined to diplomatic and consular representations abroad, adding that “the company will contact all persons whom the competent authorities have agreed to exempt from paying the quarantine expenses.”

It’s worth recalling that the quarantine costs were set at 41,000 DZD (all taxes included) for Algerians returning to the country, according to the government’s decision to partially open international airspace as of June 1.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had ordered a twenty percent reduction in accommodation expenses for Algerians returning to the country while students and elderly with low incomes have been exempted from paying these costs.

These expenses, which are paid upon acquisition or confirmation of a plane ticket, cover the costs of transportation to the quarantine location and accommodation for a period of 5 nights (all inclusive) in addition to Covid-19 test that is conducted at the end of the quarantine, as confirmed by the same company that made it clear that the exemption from the costs of quarantine is limited to two children whose age is less than 12 years old for each family.
