Al Manfi praises Algeria’s stances in support of Libyan political dialogue and national reconciliation efforts

The President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younes Al-Manfi, praised the stances of the Algerian president, government, and people in support of the Libyan political dialogue, and national reconciliation efforts, to reach a solution likely to restore stability and peace in Libya, according to the media office of the Libyan Presidential Council.

This came during the meeting held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younes Al-Manfi, on the sidelines of his participation in the proceedings of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Presidential Council said in a statement: “The President of the Presidential Council met at the headquarters of the Libyan mission in New York, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, who reiterated his country’s solidarity, and its permanent support for the Libyan people, stressing the importance of achieving comprehensive national reconciliation that ends the era of division and conflict.”.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian community abroad stated earlier today that Mr. Lamamra had conveyed to the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mr. Mohamed Younes El-Manfi, a message from his brother, President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and reiterated to him Algeria’s solidarity, and its permanent support for the brotherly Libyan people.

The meeting also constituted an opportunity to review the distinguished historical bilateral relations between the two sister countries and brotherly peoples, as the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the positive pace that characterizes these relations and the continuous consultation and coordination on various regional and international questions of common interest.

For his part, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council entrusted Mr. Lamamra with conveying his greetings and appreciation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for Algeria’s continuous efforts to establish security and stability in Libya.”
