Algeria-Mauritania: Bilateral cooperation is enhanced by the signing of several agreements to build a strong partnership

Bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania was strengthened today, Tuesday, by the signing of several agreements related to the sectors of higher education and scientific research, health, vocational training and micro-enterprises, on the second day of the state visit of the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to Algeria.

The Mauritanian president’s visit is an opportunity to enrich the legal framework governing bilateral cooperation between the two countries by signing a number of agreements related to many sectors, according to a statement of the President of the Republic, Mr. AbdelmadjidTebboune, made in a joint press conference with his Mauritanian counterpart and during which he expressed his “satisfaction” with this visit.

The Mauritanian president’s visit also comes as “a prelude to expanding cooperation to other fields and creating favorable conditions for businessmen and economic dealers” in order to “contribute to enhancing economic and commercial cooperation and building a strong partnership,” according to the President of the Republic, Mr. AbdelmadjidTebboune who insisted on the start of the construction of the Tindouf-Zouerat road.

Meanwhile, President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani described his visit to Algeria as “fruitful and constructive,” as it “will allow us to raise the relations of cooperation between the two countries to the level of brotherhood and friendship that binds the two brotherly peoples.”

He underlined that the bonds of cooperation between Algeria and his country are “broad, diverse and rooted in history”, noting that this visit represents an “opportunity to consolidate relations of cooperation”, which was reflectedby the signing of many agreements covering “important sectors”.
