Algeria-Turkey: 11th session of joint commission of economic cooperation will be held Wednesday

The 11th session of the Algerian-Turkish joint intergovernmental commission of economic, scientific and technical cooperation will be held next Wednesday in Algiers, said Sunday a statement of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Preceded Tuesday by technical meetings at the level of experts from both countries, the committee will be co-chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Donmez, said the same source.

On the sidelines of the commission’s work, a business forum dedicated to energy will be held at the Higher School of Hotel and Restaurant Algiers (ESHRA), attended by the two ministers, the document adds.

This 11th session is held under the Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation signed between Algeria and Turkey on 20 October 1983, recalls the Ministry.

This bilateral cooperation mechanism will allow the two countries to make an assessment of the cooperation since the last session held in Istanbul in September 2012 and discuss ways and means of strengthening it in all areas of common interest.

The work of the commission comes in a context marked by the “positive” development of relations between Algeria and Turkey and the willingness of both countries to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation on economic, trade, cultural, scientific and technical, notes the same source.
