Arab League: The General Secretariat deplores the “inappropriate” remarks of Morocco’s delegate to the League

The General Secretariat of the Arab League expressed reservations about the “inappropriate” remarks made by the Moroccan delegate against the General Secretariat and its employees, stressing that such remarks are deplorable.

After raising a controversy on the theme of “the map of the Arab nation” adopted by the Arab League, February 9 in Cairo within the framework of the ministerial meeting of the Economic and Social Council, the head of the Moroccan delegation charged the General Secretariat of the Arab League of “fraud and falsification of documents”, a position that has caused the rejection and disappointment of all the participating delegations.

Given the foregoing and on the guidance of the Secretary General, the General Secretariat issued a statement in which it deplores such remarks, expressing “reservations” about the “inappropriate” comments of the representative of Morocco to the General Secretariat and its employees.

The General Secretariat of the Arab League has reaffirmed its respect for “neutrality and professionalism”, stressing that it does not “tend to have problems with any member country”, but would like everyone to commit to “an acceptable discourse” within the League.

The General Secretariat affirmed, moreover, that it works “in all neutrality and respect with all the member countries”.
