Arkab participates tomorrow, Monday, in African Energy Commission meeting

Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, will participate tomorrow, Monday, via teleconference, in the proceedings of a high-level meeting organized by the African Energy Commission (AFREC) with the aim of making a brief presentation of the results of the policy on natural gas in the African energy landscape and its role in the energy sectors.

According to a statement published today, Sunday, by the ministry, the meeting, which will be held under the title “Natural Gas in the African Energy Landscape,” will allow participants to share their experiences on challenges and opportunities related to natural gas and key policy recommendations.

It is expected that the discussions will also shed light on critical issues for the development of the gas industry in Africa and provide key recommendations for the future and which will be implemented by the African Energy Commission in close cooperation with the Member States of the Organization of the African Union and relevant parties on the continent.

It should be noted that the African Energy Commission, whose headquarters are located in Algiers since 2008, is one of the bodies of the African Union created during the Conference of African Energy Ministers organized in Algiers on the 23rd  and 24th of April 2001.
