Arkab receives Director of Russian-Emirati company “EMIRAL” for African region

Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received on Thursday in Algiers the director of the Russian-Emirati joint venture “EMIRAL” for the African region, Serguei Baranov, with whom he examined the opportunities and potential for investment and partnership in the mining sector in Algeria, said a statement from the ministry.

The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, was attended by the Russian ambassador to Algeria, Igor Belyaev, ministry officials, the presidents of Mandjim El Djazair (MANAL), the Algerian Geological Survey Agency (ASGA) and the National Agency for Mining Activities (ANAM), the same source added.

On this occasion, Mr Arakb presented the development plan of the mining sector and expressed Algeria’s willingness to develop structuring projects programmed under the implementation of major mining projects, concluded the statement.

The Minister of Energy said that these projects “are a national concern and a strategic choice, in view of the significant natural resources and mineral resources that our country has, according to a dynamic vision that integrates all the different components of research, exploration, exploitation and development, in order to diversify the national economy, create wealth, meet the needs of the nation in raw materials and create jobs.
