Covid-19: More than 750 000 vaccine doses received

Algeria received Friday, at Houari Boumediene International Airport, a batch of 758,400 anti-Covid-19 vaccine doses as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Covax program.

The Pasteur Institute received a batch of 170,000 doses of vaccine last Wednesday and expects to receive another 500,000 doses next Monday, bringing the total number of doses received in one week to 1,428,400.

According to the Health, Population and Hospital Reform Ministry, a “large” batch of this vaccine is expected to be delivered in June, which will cover the high demand from citizens.

The Ministry of Health launched a vaccination campaign at the end of January after establishing a digital platform for citizens to register to be vaccinated.
