General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of the National Popular Army, chaired the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the Naval Forces Command in Zéralda, on Thursday February 02, 2023, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commanders of the Forces, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Commander of the 1st Military Region and the Heads of Departments and Central Directors of the General Staff of the National Popular Army and the Ministry of National Defence.
After the welcoming ceremony, the General of the Army, Chief of Staff of the National Popular Army, paid his respects to the soul of the Chahid (martyr) “Souidani BOUDJEMAA”, whose name is given to the headquarters of the Naval Forces Command, where he laid a wreath of flowers on the commemorative stele, and recited the Fatiha over his pure soul and those of our valiant Chouhada (Martyrs). The General of the Army inaugurated the new headquarters of the Naval Forces Command along with the Major General Mahfoud BENMEDAH, Commander of the Naval Forces.
The General of the Army then followed an exhaustive presentation on this new headquarters by the officials in charge of the project, before inspecting the different infrastructures, which will allow the personnel of the Naval Forces Command to accomplish, in the best conditions, the assigned missions with the required professionalism.
The Army General then held a meeting with the Navy Command officials during which he gave a set of instructions and orientations converging on the need to preserve this new establishment and redouble efforts to allow the continuation of a diligent work, up to the level of the fame of our Navy, particularly in the field of the development of its capacities, the securing of our maritime zones and the thwarting of any possible threat.
