The government’s action plan, approved today, Monday, during the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, included a number of axes, including strengthening national security and defense and achieving an “active and proactive” foreign policy.
The plan focused on the importance of “continuing to modernize People’s National Army and developing its capabilities” while “strengthening efforts to ensure the security of national borders and combat the remnants of terrorism and transnational organized crime.”
It also stressed “the contribution of People’s National Army to economic development and the strengthening of cyber defense means and capabilities to secure the information systems of all state institutions and agencies.”
Meanwhile, in order to achieve an “active and proactive” foreign policy, the government’s action plan stressed the need to “update the goals and tasks of the Algerian diplomacy in light of the constant values and principles of foreign policy,” and to “continue to defend the sovereignty of states and support just and legitimate causes.”
