Industrial areas: recovery of more than 2,300 hectares of unused land

Some 2,308 hectares of unused land in industrial zones and activity zones have been recovered, Industry Minister Ahmed Zaghdar said on Monday.

He was speaking during a session organized by the Commission for Economic Affairs, Industry, Trade and Planning at the National People’s Assembly (APN), under the chairmanship of Kamel Belakhdar, President of the Commission, in the presence of the Minister for Parliamentary Relations, Basma Azouar, during which he presented an exhaustive assessment of the sector for the year 2021/2022.

As part of the remediation of industrial land at the level of Industrial Areas and Activity Areas “carefully” listed, some 2,308 hectares of granted and unexploited land have been identified, argued the minister, assuring that the operation “still continues”.

In addition to the development works of three zones had been completed, in Bejaïa (El Kseur), in Boumerdès (Larbatache) and in Tlemcen (Ouled Bendamou), which should be received before the end of the current year.

In terms of promoting SMEs, the Minister reported 1.3 million companies in Algeria, indicating that the assistance centers, consulting and business incubators had accompanied 273 project leaders and ensured the incubation of 265 SMEs.
