Lamamra discusses with his Egyptian counterpart situation in the region and Libyan crisis

Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra had a phone call Wednesday with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, during which they discussed the latest developments in the region, including the situation in Libya and ways to strengthen the contribution of neighboring countries in supporting the Libyan brothers in achieving the expected political settlement.

“Following the productive consultations we had during my last visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a brotherly country, I had a phone call today with my colleague and brother Sameh Shoukry during which we discussed the latest developments in the region, including the situation in Libya and ways to strengthen the contribution of neighboring countries in supporting the Libyan brothers in the implementation of the expected political settlement,” tweeted Wednesday the Head of the Algerian diplomacy.

Mr. Lamamra, had Saturday in Cairo, a working session with his Egyptian counterpart, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, during which the two heads of diplomacy have reviewed the state of the historical relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for their strengthening.

He was also received on Sunday morning by President Abdelfattah Sissi, to whom he conveyed a message from his brother the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on the historical relations of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries.

In addition, Minister Lamamra held a working session with the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Abul Gheit.

The consultations covered the political and security situation in the Arab world, efforts to settle the crises and conflicts that affect the stability of the region, as well as the prospects for boosting joint Arab action and the preparation of upcoming events, including the Arab Summit to be held in Algeria.
