The commander of the air defense forces for the region, Major General Abdelaziz Houam, chaired today, Thursday, the work of the 22nd regular session of the joint ministerial committee to search for and rescue aircraft that are in danger, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
The same source stated that “within the framework of the activities of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Search and Rescue, Major General Abdulaziz Houam, Commander of the Air Defense Forces for the region, chaired today, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the headquarters of the Command of the Air Defense Forces for the region, the work of the twenty-second regular session (22) of the Joint Ministerial Committee to search for and rescue aircraft that are in danger, in the presence of representatives of the relevant ministries.
This meeting aims – the statement adds – to “evaluate the committee’s activities, coordination and cooperation between the various active ministerial sectors concerned with air search and rescue, as well as knowing the necessary material and human capabilities and means in this field, while standing on the extent to which national and international regulations and agreements related to search and rescue operations are applied.”
The work of this course constituted “an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and knowledge among the various participants, and it also allowed for the presentation of the measures contained in the approved intervention scheme and the assessment of effective search and rescue methods in order to reach effective intervention and quickly deal with this type of risk,” according to the statement.
