Ministry of National Defense: National People’s Army helicopters take part in extinguishing Mount Chenoua fires

The Supreme Command of the People’s National Army (ANP) deployed today, Sunday, air force helicopters to participate in the operations to fight the fires that broke out in the forests of Mount Chenoua in the province of Tipaza, according to a statement of the Ministry of National Defense.

The statement said “ In the wake of the fires that broke out today, August 14, 2022, in the forests of Mount Chenoua in the province of Tipaza, in the first military region, the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army (NPA) mobilized Air Force helicopters to participate in firefighting operations, especially in rugged areas that are difficult to reach”.

The same source indicated that “the involvement of such helicopters constitutes a great support for the work of the detachments of the National People’s Army in the field participating in extinguishing the fires that broke out in various forets, villages and affected areas, which were also able to rescue and evacuate the stranded families who were besieged by the fire.”

The same statement affirmed that “In addition to the helicopters, all human and material means have been mobilized until all fires are put ou.”.
