Mostaganem Province’s production of various types of fish during the year 2022 amounted to more than 6,800 tons, according to the local Directorate of Fisheries and Fishing Products.
The same source stated that fish production in the province of Mostaganem amounted to 6,817 tons during the past 12 months, an increase of 8 percent, which is equivalent to 526 tons, compared to 2021.
During this period, 5,577 tons of white fish, 662 tons of blue fish and 409 tons of other marine products such as pieces, crustaceans and mollusks were landed, according to the same source.
Last year, the Directorate of Fisheries and Fishing Products granted Mostaganem 544 licenses to practice marine fishing of all kinds, most of which are in the areas of picnics and for ships equipped with purse seine and sardine fishing vessels.
