Ministry of Energy and Mines affirmed, in a statement, that the earthquake that hit the province of Oran on Sunday evening did not cause any damage to the infrastructure of the sector.
The statement indicated that “After disseminating and publishing false news on social networking sites regarding the outbreak of a fire and damage to some facilities of the energy and mines sector, the Ministry of Energy and Mines informs and reassures public opinion that the earthquake that struck Oran and its suburbs, on the evening of Sunday, June 26, 2022, did not cause any human or material damage at the level of infrastructure and industrial facilities affiliated to the sector.”
The statement stressed that the teams of the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups “perform their services normally, and ensure as much as they can the energy needs of citizens and economic companies, with the necessary speed and seriousness to ensure a quality service.”
