President of the Republic addresses an invitation to the President of the Republic of Djibouti to participate at the Arab Summit

Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, was received in Djibouti on Sunday, in his capacity as special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, by the President of Djibouti, Ismaël Omar Guelleh, to whom he handed over a letter of invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to participate in the Arab Summit, scheduled for next November in Algiers, said a press release from the ministry.

“The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, was received in Djibouti in his capacity as special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, by the President of Djibouti, Ismaël Omar Guelleh, to whom he handed over a letter of invitation sent to him by President Tebboune to participate in the 31st ordinary session of the Arab summit scheduled for November 1 and 2, 2022 in Algiers,” the statement added.

On this occasion, Mr. Rezig conveyed “the fraternal greetings of the President of the Republic to his brother President, Ismaël Omar Guelleh, and his wish to see the Republic of Djibouti participate actively in the next Arab Summit and contribute to its success in order to better respond to the aspirations of the Arab peoples for greater stability and prosperity, and to strengthen Arab solidarity”.

For his part, the President of Djibouti entrusted Mr. Rezig with conveying his fraternal greetings to the President of the Republic, expressing his full readiness to participate in the Summit which he described as “historic”, given the situation prevailing on the Arab and international scene and the consequent multidimensional crises and challenges”.

This meeting, which took place in the presence of the Djiboutian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, and Trade and Tourism, Mohamed Warsama Dirieh, “allowed to emphasize the various aspects of bilateral relations as well as the prospects of developing them in various fields by injecting a new dynamic into exchanges and the promotion of cooperation between the two sister countries,” the statement concluded.
