President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, paid a visit on Thursday to the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), where he chaired a periodic working meeting, a DND statement said.
“Mr. President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, paid this Thursday, December 08, 2022, a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, where he was welcomed by Mr. General of the Army, Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army”.
“After listening to the national anthem and the presentation of honors by the various formations of the People’s National Army Forces, the President of the Republic greeted his guests”, notes the same source.
During this visit, continues the press release, “Mr. President of the Republic chaired the periodic working meeting, in which took part Mr. General of the Army, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, general officers of the Ministry of National Defense and of the General Staff of the People’s National Army and, by videoconference, the commanders of Forces, the Republican Guard, the National Gendarmerie , military regions and large units of the People’s National Army”.
During this meeting, “Mr. President followed an exhaustive presentation on the security situation prevailing throughout the national territory, presented by Mr. General of the Army, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, relating to the results of the activities carried out by the units of the People’s National Army for the year 2022, aimed at bringing together the requirements of stability, security and tranquility for the benefit of the citizens, the missions of protection and securing of our national borders, our airspace and our maritime approaches, in addition to the execution of the preparation and development programs of the Battle Corps, and the optimization of the mechanisms for maintaining the operational readiness of combat units”, adds the press release.
On this occasion, “Mr. President gave a set of orientations and instructions to the personnel of the ANP, urging them to continue the process of development and modernization of all its components, and this, with the objective to meet the challenges we face and to promote our Armed Forces to the height of the noble missions assigned”, notes the same source
