The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent today a message of condolences to his Syrian counterpart, President Bashar al-Assad, following the devastating earthquake that struck his country, leaving thousands of victims and significant material losses.
In the condolence message, the President said: “We learned with deep sadness and grief about the destructive earthquake that hit our dear Syria this morning, leaving thousands of victims and significant material losses.”
The President added: “During this human tragedy that has affected the Syrian people, I speak on behalf of the Algerian people and government, and personally, to express my sincere condolences to you and the Syrian people. I also extend my sincere sympathies to the families of the victims, hoping that the Almighty will bless the dead, heal the injured, and alleviate the suffering of Syria during this painful ordeal. In this context, I do not hesitate to emphasize Algeria’s stand, both government and people, alongside the Syrian people in these difficult circumstances, and our readiness to lend a hand and provide assistance in every effort to alleviate the consequences of this painful disaster.”
The President concluded his condolences by saying: “Please accept, Your Excellency, the President and my dear brother, my heartfelt condolences, and our sincere and genuine fraternal solidarity. Please accept my warmest regards.”
