President of the Republic invites Egyptian counterpart to participate in the Arab Summit in Algeria

Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, was received today, Tuesday in Cairo, by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to whom he handed in a letter of invitation from the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to participate in the proceedings of the 31st session of the Arab Summit slated for the Next November 1st and 2nd, according to a statement by the ministry.

The statement said: “In his capacity as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdel Majid Tebboune, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, was received today at the Federal Palace by the President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.”

During the meeting, the minister of Foreign Affairs handed in to the Egyptian president a letter of invitation sent to him by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to participate in the Arab summit in Algeria, and also extended to him on this occasion, “his sincere greetings and aspiration to continue working with him to enhance bilateral cooperation and consolidate the tradition of political consultation and coordination between the two sister countries,” the statement adds. .

For his part, “President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi expressed his deep appreciation to his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, praising his efforts and endeavors to provide the conditions for the success of the upcoming Arab summit, stressing his keenness to participate and personally contribute to supporting these efforts to ensure that this important Arab achievement is crowned with results that live up to the Arab peoples’ aspirations”

The same source also indicated that “the historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples were reviewed, as the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the new dynamic witnessed by bilateral cooperation in light of the decisions taken by the leaders of the two countries during President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Egypt early this year.”

The most important issues of common concern at the Arab world, international and African levels were also discussed, especially the latest developments in the two countries’ region.
