President of the Republic invites Sultan of Oman to participate in Arab Summit in Algeria

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab was received today, Wednesday in Muscat, in his capacity as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, , by the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and the Special Representative of the Sultan of the  sisterly Sultanate of Oman, his Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, to whom he handed in an invitation letter from the President of the Republic to his brother the Sultan of Oman, his Majesty Haitham bin Tariq, to participate in the Arab Summit that will be held in Algeria in early November 2022, according to a statement by the same Ministry.

The statement said “In continuity of the Gulf tour that he is undertaking in his capacity as special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, was received today in Muscat by the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and the Special Representative of the Sultan of the  sisterly Sultanate of Oman, his Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Saidhis, , to whom he handed in an invitation letter from the President of the Republic to his brother the Sultan of Oman, his Majesty Haitham bin Tariq, to participate in the Arab Summit that will be held in Algeria in early November 2022 “.

On the occasion, the statement adds, the Minister conveyed “the greetings of the President of the Republic to his brother, His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq, and his wishes for the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the upcoming Arab Summit and its wise contribution to facilitating Arab consensus and promoting joint Arab action, in a manner that lives up to the hopes and aspirations of the Arab peoples for more stability and development.”.

For his part, “His Highness Asaad bin Tariq confirmed the participation of the Sultanate of Oman in the Arab Summit, which will be held in Algeria in an Arab and international context that requires understanding and consensus more than ever before, conveying, on the occasion, his most sincere fraternal greetings to the President of the Republic.”

The meeting also constituted an opportunity to address the various aspects of bilateral relations and the prospects for their development, in light of the capabilities that the two countries have, especially with regard to energy, training, cultural exchange and startups and small enterprises, according to the statement.
