President of the Republic offers his condolences to family of former goalkeeper Mehdi Cerbah

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, offered his sincere condolences to the family of former goalkeeper, Algerian international Mehdi Cerbah, who passed away due to a long illness at the age of 68.

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, wrote on his official account on “Twitter”: “I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Mehdi Cerbah, former legendary goalkeeper of our national team, as well as to all his fans and the football family. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”.

It is noteworthy that the deceased was crowned with the Algerian national team the gold medal in the 1975 Mediterranean Games that took place in Algeria, after beating France 3-2 in the final match. He also participated in the 1982 World Cup finals in Spain, contributing to a great career with the Greens, with whom he played 62 international matches.
