President of the Republic receives a phone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received today, Tuesday, a phone call from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, during which they examined bilateral relations and agreed to update the meeting of the high-level joint ministerial committee, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic.

The presidential statement said: “The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, today received a phone call from the President of the French Republic, Mr. Emmanuel Macron. The call was an opportunity to examine bilateral relations and agree to update high-level joint ministerial committee”.

The two presidents also exchanged “views on regional issues of common concern in the Sahel region, especially in Chad, Niger and Mali, and what should be done to help the Sahel countries achieve stability.” The same source added.

With regard to the situation in Libya, the two presidents agreed to “support the settlement process in this sister country, including providing assistance to the new government in order to organize elections in the best conditions.”
