President of the Republic: upcoming local elections constitute “important station” for “representative councils”

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed, Tuesday in Algiers, that the local elections scheduled for next November 27 constitute an “important station that will allow the election of representative councils” that will take on the concerns and aspirations of the citizen.

President Tebboune explained, during his supervision of the inauguration of the members of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council, that ” local elections scheduled for November 27 will be an important station in the existing calendar format, from which representative councils will emerge and  take on the concerns and aspirations of citizens.”

The President of the Republic added, on this occasion, that the inauguration of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council “is part of the comprehensive institutional reforms” that the state has embarked on starting from the revision of the constitution through the election of a new People’s Assembly and the installation of the Civil Society Council and the Supreme Youth Council, as well as the Constitutional Court, expressing his hope that these reforms will contribute to bring Algeria to safety and to respond to the changes expected by the citizens.

President Tebboune said that the state “will continue in the coming period to adapt the existing councils and bodies and install the new ones,” stressing the need for efforts to be directed towards economic and social recovery, that dialogue be the basis of fruitful work, and that development be the result of a joint effort by the public and private sectors for the benefit of all.
