Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, oversaw, Wednesday in Algiers, the inauguration of the National Statistics Council.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the International Conference Center Abdul Latif Rahal in the presence of a number of government members, led by the Minister of Digitization and Statistics Hocine Cherhabil, representatives of many government agencies and institutions, representatives of social partners and employers.
This inauguration coincides with the World Statistics Day, which is celebrated every five years.
The National Statistics Council includes senior officials and experts appointed by executive decree for a period of four years, representatives of public administrations and institutions, syndicates and associations of professional nature, associations of a scientific, cultural, economic and social nature.
The members of the National Statistics Council are appointed in accordance with the provisions of Executive Decree No. 21-249 issued in the Official Gazette Issue 45 in the current year (2021), which includes the appointment of members of the National Statistics Council in its new mandate.
