Ramtane Lamamra holds talks with his Yemeni counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra held talks on Sunday evening with his Yemeni counterpart, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, who is on a working visit to Algeria, a ministry statement said.

During their talks, the two Foreign Ministers “reviewed the relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the means of strengthening them” and discussed “the main issues related to the Arab Summit scheduled for Algiers on November 1 and 2,” the statement said.

In this context, the Yemeni minister affirmed his country’s support for Algeria’s efforts in favor of the unification of Arab countries and the strengthening of solidarity in the service of their central issues, the Palestinian cause in the lead, saying he’s convinced that “these efforts will be crowned by the success of the summit, especially since all the Arab countries subscribe to it and wish through this meeting to meet the challenges posed by the unrest at the regional and international levels”, according to the same source.

The heads of diplomacy of the two countries also discussed developments in the situation in Yemen. On this occasion, Mr. Lamamra expressed the Algerian condemnation of the recent attack against oil installations, causing material damage.

He also reaffirmed Algeria’s constant solidarity with the leadership and people of Yemen and its aspiration to see this brother country overcome its ordeal thanks to the unity of its children and their adherence to the political process to reach a settlement. overall of the crisis.

In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the meeting, the Yemeni minister expressed his gratitude to Algeria for “its support for the legitimate government in Yemen”.

He also congratulated Algeria for the efforts made to host the Arab Summit and ensure its success, believing that these efforts will unify the Arab ranks. He added that Yemen will take part in this important meeting with a “high-level delegation led by the chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council”.

Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak also indicated that Algeria “has always supported the political solution, with a view to establishing lasting peace in Yemen…”.

On another aspect, the head of the Yemeni diplomacy addressed the question of the training of Yemenis in Algeria and the opportunities for its expansion, recalling that there are among the thousands of Yemenis trained in Algeria, those who occupy high positions within the Yemeni state.

Cooperation between Algeria and Yemen “has a promising future”, especially since the two countries are united by “relations and close ties”, he concluded.
