Russian delegation commends investment, partnership opportunities between two countries

A Russian delegation visiting Blida city in Algeria on Monday commended the investment and partnership opportunities between Algeria and Russia, in view of the industrial and agricultural resources available in the province.

The Russian delegation, headed by the Deputy Governor of Kaluga (administrative division of the Russian Federation), Vladimir Popov, visited public and private industrial and agricultural units, where they inquired about investment and partnership opportunities available between the two countries.

Mr. Popov praised, on the occasion, the technology adopted in the field of livestock feed, expressing his “admiration” for the technology used by an industrial enterprise producing animal feed supplements in the industrial zone of Kef Lahmame (Ouled Yaich), the only one of its kind in Africa.

The delegation also reviewed the cooperation opportunities provided by a firm specialising in the production of tree seedlings in Beni Tamou, using modern methods.

Blida’s hosts also examined with the Club of entrepreneurs and industrialists of the Mitidja (CEIMI), the exchange opportunities provided by Algerian companies, especially in terms of exporting certain agricultural products, including tomatoes, dates and other commodities not produced in Russia.

On the industrial front, the managers of the National Carpentry and Boilermaking Company (ENCC/CR-Metal) of Blida gave a presentation on the human and material capabilities available at the company.

“Through this visit, the company, leader in the national field of metal construction and boiler making, aims to benefit from Russian expertise and experience in the field of automotive construction,” said its Chairman and CEO, Said Arabate, in a statement to the press.

Arabate also stressed his company’s readiness to ‘enter the automotive industry, taking advantage of Russian know-how, especially as it currently builds iron and copper structures and equipment, and even vehicle bodies’.

Blida’s governor, Ahmed Maâbed, highlighted the “important resources of the province in the industrial, agricultural and tourist fields, which could be developed in bilateral projects within the framework of the development of the national economy”.

“The objective of this visit is to establish partnerships through the exchange of experiences in various sectors and fields,” the Governor added.
