Sahrawi army carries out new attacks on Moroccan occupation forces in Smara sector

The units of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army carried out on Saturday, new attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation forces in the Smara sector, according to military statement No. 539 issued by the Sahrawi Ministry of Defense.

The statement – which was reported by the Saharawi News Agency – indicated that “the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army continued its bombardment on the strongholds and entrenchments of the occupation forces affiliated with the command of the 58th Battalion, located in the Smara sector.”

The statement also stressed, “Sahrawi army units bombed the cities of Sabkhat al-Akrish and al-Ghawa, both of which are in the Smara region.”

Detachments of the Sahrawi army had “intensified the day before yesterday their bombardment of the occupation army’s positions in the areas of Ros Lagteira and Ross al-Qaa, and Targhanat in the Hawza sector.”

The attacks of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army have continued since the thirteenth of November 2020, targeting the strongholds of the Moroccan occupation forces, which incurred heavy losses in lives and equipment along the sand wall (the wall of humiliation and shame), according to the same statement.
