Transport Minister Aissa Bakkai confirmed on Sunday from Boumerdes that work is well under way through the government’s economic recovery program to develop and upgrade all ports across the country and to review the ways and means of their management and regulation.
Mr Bakkai said in a press statement on the sidelines of the signing of a framework agreement between the ports management company and three private operators, under which they have obtained contracts for the exploitation of spaces within the ports, Hichem Sofiane Salaouatchi, and the minister of industry, Ahmed Zaghdar, had work is under way at the level of his ministerial department to “develop, upgrade and review the management and organization of Algerian ports”.
