The Ministry of Industry organised a workshop on the development of the wood industry sector in Algeria, in which more than 50 participants representing the ministries concerned, employers’ organisations, professional associations and the main public and private economic operators took part, a ministry statement said on Wednesday.
“Within the framework of the organization and the relaunching of some industrial sectors, through the establishment of dialogue and consultation with public companies and economic operators operating in the industrial sectors, the Ministry of Industry organized, at the beginning of this week, the 4th workshop devoted to the development of the wood industry sector in Algeria, attended by more than 50 participants representing the ministries concerned, employers’ organizations, professional associations and the main public and private economic operators,” reads the statement.
This session is part of the action program outlined by the Ministry of Industry, during the 1st meeting, held on December 29, 2022, on the themes of raw material, industrial property and vocational training in the field of wood and marketing, says the same source.
In coordination with all industrial and professional operators, organizations and associations operating in the field of wood, a report on the sector will be prepared, which will include the aspects reviewed during the series of meetings, as well as the presentation of a state of play of the wood sector, providing urgent solutions in the medium and long term, the statement adds.
Once prepared and adopted, this report will be “submitted to the High Authorities, in order to take the necessary decisions”, the communiqué concludes.
