16 people were killed and 474 others were injured in traffic accidents that occurred across the country during the last 48 hours, according to a statement issued today, Saturday, by the civil protection services.
The same source added that, during the same period, the civil protection services recovered five (5) victims who drowned in the beaches of Boumerdes, Jijel, Ain Temouchent and Chlef, and also recovered a dead person who drowned in a semi-Olympic swimming pool in the municipality of Khemis Miliana in the province of Ain Defla.
With regard to fighting forest fires and agricultural crops, civil protection teams have intervened to put out 68 fires, including 53 fires that included forests and bushes, in addition to 15 fires of agricultural crops.
