The National Security Services recorded 298 raod accidents in urban areas from January 24 to January 30, 2023, causing the death of 09 people and injuring 349 others.
Compared to the statistics recorded last week, road accident increased by (+28), injuries increased by (+30), and the number of deaths increasing by (+02).
Collected information indicates that the causes of these accidents are primarily due to human responsability, with a rate of more than 95%, as a result of non-compliance with the traffic law, non-compliance with the safety distance, excessive speed, fatigue and lack of concentration when driving, in addition to other reasons related to the vehicle.
The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) once again calls on road users to respect the traffic regulation and to be careful when driving.
To this end, it recalls the toll-free number 1548 and the emergency number 17, which are available 24 hours a day for all reports.
