3 people died and 186 others were injured in the last 24 hours

3 people were killed, and 186 others sustained injuries of varying severity in traffic accidents recorded in several regions of the country during the past 24 hours, according to a report today, Sunday, by the civil protection services.

The same services recorded the drowning to death of a 16-year-old teenager in the Ouled Mellak Valley in the municipality of Al-Wenza located in the province of Tebessa. The victim was transferred to the local health center.

The civil protection elements of the province of Oran also intervened after the floor of an apartment located on the third floor collapsed on the second floor of an old building on Al-Aures Street. One person was injured and was taken care of on the spot before being transferred to the local hospital.

With regard to activities related to the prevention of the spread of the Corona virus Covid-19, during the same period, the civil protection units carried out 38 awareness-raising campaigns across 06 provinces (23 municipalities) for the benefit of citizens, urging them and reminding them of the need to respect lockdown rules as well as social distancing, in addition to 29 sterilization operations in one province (13 municipalities), through public facilities and structures, especially residential areas and streets.

For these two operations, the General Directorate of Civil Protection allocated 144 civil protection agents of various ranks, 27 ambulances and 14 fire trucks, with a security apparatus set up for lockdown locations in the provinces of: Algiers, Constantine and Oran for those who come from abroad.
