World-2022 Qualifiers: Algeria beats Niger 4-0

Algeria national football team won on Tuesday against Niger 4-0 (half-time: 2-0), in a match played at the Seyni-Kountché stadium in Niamey, as part of the 4th day (Gp. A) of Qatar World Cup 2022 qualifiers .

Captain Riyad Mahrez scored the first goal at the 20th minute; Aïssa Mandi added the second goal of the encounter 7 minutes later.

The result means Algeria regain their position at the top of the standings, along with Burkina Faso, who beat Djibouti 2-0 in Marrakech on Monday, with 10 points each. Niger, officially eliminated, follows in 3rd place (3 pts), while Djibouti closes the race with 0 point.

In the fifth and penultimate round, scheduled for 11, 12 and 13 November, Algeria will travel to face Djibouti, while Burkina Faso will host Niger.

The winner of the group will qualify for the third and final round (play-off) scheduled for March 2022.
