Mediterranean Games: more than 100 stadium staff have been mobilized in Sig Stadium

The Directorate of Youth and Sports of the province of Mascara has mobilized more than 100 stadium staff to ensure good organization of the Sig football stadium of the new sports pole, which will host, starting from Sunday, the first matches as part of the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games, according to a statement issued by the same authority today, Saturday.

The same source indicated that the aforementioned directorate held a meeting a few days ago with more than 100 stadium staff who are dedicated to framing the football stadium of the new sports pole of Sig, which will host part of the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games, during which directives were given to the staff on the need to ensure good and tight framing of this stadium during the nine matches that it will host within this international sports competition.

The same authority also took the initiative to organize virtual practical exercises inside the new football stadium in Sig, to ​​look at the readiness of the stadiums’ staff in framing the same sports facility.

The directorate highlighted that the staff is made up of volunteers hired from the province’s sports facilities.

The staff has recently benefited from a training course at the National Institute for Higher Training of Sports Executives in Ain El-Turk (Oran), where they received theoretical and practical lessons on methods of dealing with spectators from stadiums, as well as how to properly frame international football events.

In anticipation of the Mediterranean Games, the Directorate of Youth and Sports employed 20 specialists in the maintenance of night lighting equipment, floodlights and sound equipment, as well as the floor covered with natural grass at the level of the football pitch at the Sig Sports Pole.

The same authority confirmed that the football stadium of the same sports facility is “ready” to host the two matches of the national football team against Spain (starting at five in the evening) and the Moroccan and French teams (starting at eight in the evening).

It is worth noting that the sports pole in Sig, will host nine football matches from June 26 to July 5, 2022, on the occasion of the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games, as well as training for the teams participating in the Mediterranean Games in swimming and water polo, according to a statement of the same source.
