Mujahid Dr. Othman Saadi passes away

The mujahid, writer and former diplomat Othmane Saadi died at the age of 92, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Mujahedeen and Rights Holders.

Born in 1930 in Tebessa, the deceased joined the national movement very early. He is one of the first graduates of the Abdelhamid Ben Badis Institute and was part of the first study missions in the East where he later activated in the representations of the National Liberation Front (FLN), notably in Cairo.

After independence, the deceased occupied several positions in the diplomatic corps. He was elected a member of the National People’s Assembly and of the Central Committee of the FLN party. He has written several books and articles on history, language and culture.

The Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laïd Rebiga extended, in this painful circumstance, “his sincere condolences and his compassion to the family of the deceased, praying Allah Almighty to grant him his holy mercy and to welcome him in his vast paradise, and to grant his family patience and forbearance”.
