The friendly preparatory match, which will oppose the local national team with its Ghanaian counterpart, will take place on Saturday, January 7th at (20:00) at the Baraki Stadium (Algiers) instead of the Miloud Hedfi Stadium in Oran, as part of the preparations for the African Championship finals for locals scheduled in Algeria from January 13th to February4th, as announced today, Tuesday, by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), on its official website.
The FAF said in its statement “The friendly match opposing Algeria and Ghana, scheduled for Saturday, January 7 (20:00), as part of the preparations for the 2022 African Championship, will take place at the Baraki stadium.”
This friendly match was scheduled to take place at Miloud Hedfi Stadium in Oran, but it was finally relocated to Baraki Stadium in the capital, which pleased the players of the national coach, Madjid Bougherra, and the supporters of the “Greens”, who are thirsty to discover this new stadium.
The head of the local organizing committee for continental competition, Rachid Okali, underlined a few days ago that this friendly match “cannot be organized at the Baraki stadium because it has not yet been approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).”
This match will be the first to be hosted by the new stadium in Baraki, before the start of “Chan-2022”, in which the first group matches will be held, which includes Algeria (the organized club), Libya, Mozambique and Ethiopia.
It is worth noting that the Algerian national team, under the leadership of coach Madjid Bougherra, did not record any victory in the last three friendly matches, as it drew against Mauritania (0-0) and Senegal (2-2) on December 14 and 17 in Annaba, while it lost againt Kuwait (1-0) in Dubai last November.
