Arabic Language Day: Higher Council for Arabic Language grants awards to winners of Arabic Language Prize 2022

The winners of the Arabic Language Award granted by the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language were honored, today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the National People’s Assembly, on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Arabic Language Day, which coincides with December 18 of each year.

The Council’s first prize in the field of linguistic sciences was granted to Mohamedd Bouzaoui for his “Dictionary of the Algerian Dialect”, while the second prize was awarded to Mohamedd Rachid Miloud, while the encouragement award went to Abdelhafid Cherif.

As for the category of translation into Arabic, the first prize was withheld, while the second went to Mohamed El-Amine Bouhaloufah and the encouragement prize was also withheld.

The Council’s Prize for the Arabic Language, which is granted every two years, aims to encourage Algerian researchers and value their scientific, cognitive and creative achievements with qualitative results, aimed at enriching the Arabic language, and contributing to its publication and promotion, regardless if they are written in Arabic or translated into Arabic.
