Closure of cultural spaces pending the improvement of health situation

The Ministry of Culture and Arts announced today, Wednesday, the “temporary closure of all cultural spaces until the health situation improves,” a decision taken after the significant increase in the number of infections with the Corona virus, according to a statement by the ministry.

The same source indicated that this decision, which was taken in order to preserve the health of the citizens and to combat the spread of the epidemic, applies to all cultural spaces, including “theatres, cinemas, public libraries, culture houses or even museums and archaeological sites.”

The Ministry of Culture and Arts also states that the vaccination pass is “required”, as of December 28, 2021, for citizens over the age of 18 to be able to enter the cultural spaces, as stipulated in Executive Decree 544-21.

In addition to the vaccination pass, the ministry stresses on those responsible for the structures, the “strict” application of the health protocol measures such as compulsory mask-wearing, social distancing and “periodic disinfection of cultural spaces.”
