Social media platform Facebook announced on Monday that it is ramping up efforts to stem the spread of misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines.
The operation aims at banning groups which repeatedly spread misinformation about the virus and the vaccines in general.
Groups that share vaccine misinformation may be removed completely, warned Facebook vice president of integrity Guy Rosen.
False claims list includes information such COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured, it’s safer to get the disease than to get the vaccine or that vaccines are toxic, dangerous or cause autism.
The social media platform stated that it has received more than 50 million responses to a COVID-19 survey it launched last year. The survey was about COVID-19 symptoms, masks wearing, and access to healthcare.
