Football: Algerian national team of local players arrives in Oran, accompanied by Belmadi, for friendly match against Liberia

The Algerian national team of local players arrived today at midday in Oran, in anticipation of the friendly match against the first team of Liberia tomorrow, Thursday (20:45 a.m.) at the new Olympic stadium of the city.

The delegation was received by representatives of local authorities at Ahmed Ben Bella Airport in Es-Sénia. The team was accompanied to the capital of the Algerian West by the coach of the first national team, Djamel Belmadi, who will take advantage of the opportunity to supervise the players of the national team active in the local championship, with the aim of including the best of them in his squad that will play important international matches in the next few months.

Immediately after the end of the reception ceremony, the cubs of coach Madjid Bouguerra went on a bus that was put at their disposal by the National Committee for Organizing Mediterranean Games scheduled in Oran in the summer of 2022, to join the hotel designated for them during their stay in the city.

The National Committee for Organizing Mediterranean Games seeks to exploit tomorrow’s match, the first in the program of preparations for the local team for the Arab Cup of Nations in November and December 2021 in Qatar, to promote the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games. The match is also considered a trial for the same committee to well prepare for the regional sports event, according to its officials.

Tomorrow’s event will be big, considering that it is the first match in the new Olympic stadium, whose capacity is 40,000 seats, as it will be temporarily used, pending the completion of the works of other sports facilities of the large sports complex located in the municipality of Bir El Djir (east of Oran), such as the multi-sports hall, an Athletics stadium and Aquatic Center, scheduled for next September.
