Huawei Algeria Telecom provides training to 21 students

The Chinese company Huawei Telecom Algeria organized, Monday in Algiers, the closing ceremony of the 7th session of the Young Talent Development Program, in the presence of members of the government.

Twenty-one students belonging to the institutes of telecommunications, the universities of Algiers, Oran, Saida, Bejaia, M’sila, Batna, and the IT National Higher School, benefited from the training in Oran and Algiers, during the period between August 29 and September 6, 2021, with Chinese experts and Algerian instructors.

The project of the Seeds for the Future, initiated by Huawei since 2008, ensures the training of students in information and communication technologies across 130 countries in the world, with the aim of developing local talents in the field of information and communication technologies. This project has allowed Huawei to partner with more than 500 universities.

This program was launched in Algeria in 2014 after signing an agreement with the Institutes of Telecommunications in Algiers and Oran under the aegis of the Ministry of Post, Information and Communication Technologies, where more than 90 brilliant students benefited from this training program in China and Algeria. .

On this occasion, the Minister of Post, Information and Communication Technologies, commended Huawei’s initiative in organizing this kind of encouraging program for the benefit of students from various universities and institutions.

For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelbaki Benziane, underlined the partnership agreement between his ministry and Huawei Algeria in 2018, which was renewed in 2021.

He added “Huawei has always supported the higher education sector since 2016, especially through several support, assistance and skills transfer programs such as the “Progress” program and “ICT Academy”.

For his part, the Minister of Digitization and Statistics, Hocine Cherhabil, praised “the efforts made by Huawei in developing the information and communication technologies sector in Algeria, especially by organizing this type of initiatives.”

As for the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of the Knowledge Economy and Startups, Yacine Mehdi Walid, he expressed his satisfaction with the organization of this 7th edition of Seeds for the Future.

He also indicated that the government relied on encouraging talent to enter the world of technology and promote the development of the digital system.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of Huawei Algeria announced the launch of an incentive fund for “Huawei ICT Academy” during the upcoming “Huawei ICT Academy” forum, scheduled for early October in Algeria.
