Two Algerian teams won the global contest of the “Huawei ICT contest”, which was organized on June 18 in China, according to a statement issued by Huawei company.
The same source indicated that “The Algerian team (Cloud) won the grand prize of this international contest, which brought together 120,000 students from 85 countries from different continents, Africa / Europe / Asia and the Pacific / the Middle East / South America, while an Algerian female student won for the first time the “Women in Technology” award.
The statement added that the winners of the “Cloud” championship are Karabadji Lina from the Ecole Supérieure de l’Informatique (ESI), who also won the “Women In Tech” prize, Kara Soufiane, from Batna 2 University and Messaoudi Anis from l University of Bejaia. For the “Network” championship, the winners are Messaoudi Mouslim and Bouslama Hichem from ESI, and Taibi Mohammed Ali from the University of Sidi Bel-Abbès..
This victory was achieved – according to the same statement – “thanks to their skills in innovation and information and communication technology (artificial intelligence / computing / big data / cloud …).”
It’s worth noting that Algeria was represented during this edition by “6 brilliant students, accompanied by two trainers and experts from Huawei, with access to the latest technologies and facilities provided by Huawei.”
Algeria participated in the global contest “Huawei for Information and Communication Technology” for the 2021-2022 season, with more than 1,200 students from more than 30 universities, colleges and institutes under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
It is worth recalling that this contest was launched in September, when teams from Huawei visited various regions of the country. This contest is fully consistent with Huawei’s vision and approach of transferring knowledge and skills in the field of ICT for the benefit of young Algerian talents.
