ICT Maghreb: three startups win the best innovation competition

The 2nd edition of the international exhibition of information and communication technologies “ICT Maghreb” ended on Wednesday in Algiers with the awarding of prizes to three winning startups in the competition for the best innovation.

The winning startups were awarded at a ceremony attended by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Karim Bibi Triki, and the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji.

The first prize was awarded to the startup “Doctus” active in the organisation of events in the medical field, the second prize was awarded to the startup Garini, which has developed an application to manage car parks, while the third prize was won by Cleverzone, a startup aiming at digitalising the health sector in Algeria

This competition is considered as “a real accelerator to boost new high-potential companies” and allow “to discover and highlight young talents in student category or having launched a particularly innovative activity in the IT field”, said the organizers of the show (Prolinkom Consulting and MM. Communication) under the slogan “Digital, a multisectoral lever and a full-fledged economy “.

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications took this opportunity to encourage the young managers of startups for their innovations that contribute to the economic development of the country, as well as the companies participating in the exhibition, while highlighting the commitments of his ministry to support digital actors in Algeria.

Mr Bibi Triki visited the fair where start-ups and more than 150 national and international exhibitors, including the main Algerian actors of the information and communication technologies sector, were present.

The exhibition, which opened last Monday at the Palais de la Culture Moufdi Zakaria, brought together IT decision-makers and provides a forum for reflection and exchange to drive projects forward.

Some forty conference-debates and thematic workshops were held on the sidelines of this event, which was very popular with visitors from all over the country who came to learn about the latest solutions and innovations in digital matters.

Several companies exhibited their latest innovations and business offers such as the public operator Algérie Télécom which highlighted its Moohtarif Pack, a package designed for professionals (lawyers, accountants, doctors, architects, etc.) and very small businesses (fast food restaurants, travel and tourism agencies, driving schools, etc.).

Other public companies such as Mobilis and Algérie Télécom Satellite have put forward their latest commercial offers and innovations in telecommunications.

In the same context, the private mobile phone operator Ooredoo participated in this trade show through the Ooredoo Business Division where its sales representatives offered the latest offers and innovative solutions adapted to the specific needs of professionals in the information technology sector.
