Minister of Youth and Sports on a working visit to Nigeria

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrezak Sabkak, arrived in Nigeria, yesterday, Monday, on a working visit, within the framework of “activating sports diplomacy” and “Algeria’s endeavors to take its true place in African sports,” according to a press release of the ministry, issued on Tuesday.

The Minister was accompanied by the President of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, Abderrahmane Hammad, where he was received by the Nigerian Minister of Youth and Sports, Sandai Dari, the Ambassador of Algeria to Nigeria, Hocine Latli, and the President of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa, Mustapha Berraf.

Abderrezak Sabkak began his visit by organizing a dinner in honor of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the residence of the Algerian Embassy in Abuja, which allowed to talk about future continental sporting dates, African sporting challenges and ways to enhance the position of the African continent at the international level,” according to the same source.

Starting today, the Minister of Youth and Sports will hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from four African countries, namely Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt and Kenya, “which will constitute an opportunity for cooperation and unifying visions and efforts on issues of common interest to advance youth and sports in the African continent,” added the press release.

Abderrezak Sabkak will attend the meeting of the Executive Office of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa, which marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of this association.
