Overthrowing a network selling alcoholic beverages without license in Zeralda

The regional road security company in Zeralda (Algiers) managed to bring down a network selling alcoholic beverages without a license. The operation resulted in the arrest of 06 people, the seizure of 3,928 bottles and the recovery of a significant amount of money, according to a press release issued by the same security apparatus.

The same source explained that the implementation of the operation came within the framework of “the plan of the regional group of the National Gendarmerie in Algeria aimed at combating the illegal trade in alcoholic beverages, protecting public health and suppressing fraud.” The regional road security department in Zeralda has “developed an elaborate plan that enabled the arrest and search of several vehicles.”

In a short time, these operations resulted in “the arrest of a DFSK truck carrying alcoholic drinks of various sizes and types, and the arrest of two (02) people, with the seizure of 1236 bottles and the recovery of a sum of 171,000 dinars.”

In a second operation, the same forces managed to “arrest a Toyota minivan, and after searching it, alcoholic beverages of various sizes and types were found without having a license for possession and transportation, as well as not having a commercial register, as a result, two people (02) were arrested, 1,200 bottles were seized, and a sum of 125,000 dinars was recovered.

In a third operation, “a tourist vehicle carrying alcoholic beverages of various sizes and types was arrested without having a license for possession and transportation, as well as not having a commercial registry. This operation resulted in the arrest of two people (02) and the seizure of 492 bottles with the recovery of a sum of money of 84,400 dinars.”

The statement indicated that, “After completing all investigation procedures, those involved in the case were presented before the competent judicial authorities, with the seized goods handed over to state property.”
