Thirty-six (36) people died and 1107 others were injured in 1039 road accidents that occurred between 8 and 14 January across the country, said Tuesday a report by the Civil Protection.
The highest toll was recorded in the province of Constantine where 4 people died and 49 others were injured in 42 traffic accidents, the statement said.
During the same period, the Civil Protection units also extinguished 664 fires, notably urban and industrial, the most important of which were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (116), Blida (53) and Annaba (33).
In addition, 5062 operations were carried out for the rescue of 455 people in danger and the carrying out of 4490 various assistance operations.
