The central and eastern highlands of the country, whose height is estimated to exceed 900 meters, will witness snowfall starting Monday morning, according to a special bulletin of the National Meteorological Office.
Accordingly, the governorates of Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Khenchela and Tebessa were placed at the “orange” alert level during the validity period of this bulletin, which extends from 06 AM until 06 PM, the thickness of the snow will be estimated between 10 to 15 centimeters, the same source adds.
The office also warned of rain falling, today, Sunday, amounting from 20 to 30 mm, on the provinces of: Chlef, Tipaza, Blida, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia, starting from 06PM 09AM tomorrow, Monday.
