Union of North African Football Federations U17 tournament (Day 1): Algeria wins against Libya 1-0

The Algerian U17 team beat its Libyan counterpart 1-0 (half-time: 1-0) on Monday at the Omar Benrabah stadium in Dar El-Beïda (Algiers), for the first day of the Union of North African Football (UNAF) tournament.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 39th minute by Olympique Lyonnais’ Algerian striker, Bahlouli Djibril.

The other match of this first day will bring together Tunisia against Egypt (15h00). Morocco is exempt from this opening day.

Algeria will play its next match on Wednesday against Morocco (15:00), while Egypt will face Libya. Tunisia will be exempted.

The players of coach Arezki Romman will face next Sunday the Egyptian national team (15:00 a.m.), before ending the tournament against Tunisia, on Tuesday, March 22 (15:00 a.m.).

In addition to the Algerian national team, this tournament will be attended by Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Libya. The competition will be played in a mini-championship. The first in the ranking will be named champion. The duration of each game is estimated at 80 minutes, 40 minutes per half, while the number of players who can be changed is five players and a goalkeeper.

In addition to the North African Union tournament, preparations for the U17 national team are also part of the preparations for other international competitions, such the Africa Cup of nations 2023, which will be held in Algeria from 8 to 30 April 2023.
