Civil Protection units have carried out several operations, during the last 24 hours to absorb rainwater and inspect landslides, as the collapse of walls has been recorded in several provinces of the center of the country due to heavy rainfalls, according to a toll revealed today, Wednesday, by the Civil Protection services.
In the province of Algiers, the same units carried out several operations to absorb rainwater inside homes and some facilities and amenities in the municipalities of Bordj El Bahri, Birtouta and Kalitous, while in the municipality of Bab El Oued, a partial collapse of a balcony in a building and a wall of a building was recorded as a result of land slide without recording human losses.
The same services also intervened after the partial collapse of the roof of an old house near the service station in the municipality of Rais Hamidou, the collapse of a wall on the road following a land slide in the municipality of Belouizdad and the risk of the collapse of two precarious houses in Houch Djirou in the municipality of Bir Mourad Rais, in addition to the collapse of the kitchen roof of a building in the municipality of Bologhine without recording any victims.
They also inspected landslides in the municipality of Bologhine and the fall of an electric pole inside Mohamed Drouwe High School in Sebala in the municipality of El Achour, as well as a landslide near the municipal stadium in the municipality of Bouzareah.
In the province of Boumerdes, Civil Protection units carried out several operations to absorb rainwater from inside homes and some facilities and amenities in the municipalities of Thenia, Korso, Ouled Hadjadj, Hammadi, Chaabet Al-Amer and Bordj Menayel without recording major losses.
It also carried out the same operations in the province of Tizi Ouzou in each of the municipalities of Ait Yahya Moussa, Draa Ben Khedda, Beni Douala, Yakouren and Bouzeguen, with the closure of two municipal roads in the village of Al-Sahel and the village of Boubachir located in the Bouzeguen municipality, in addition to the collapse of walls in the municipalities of Azzefoun, Rajana and Draa Al-Mizan.
The same source pointed out that the national road No. 12 is cut off in the place called Bani Sifi, the municipality of Draa Bin Khedda, and the state road No. 100 is closed in its section in the municipality of Beni Douala.
In Blida, Civil Protection units carried out several operations to absorb rainwater inside homes and some facilities and amenities in the municipalities of Al-Chebli, Larbaa, Al-Afroun and Meftah without recording any losses.
